Award-winning artist, Bettina Mills, graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona with a bachelors degree in illustration/graphic design. She has been working professionally as an artist/illustrator since 1986. For the past 15 years, Bettina has created the paintings for the Casa de la Luz Calendar. Her work has been influenced by artist Diego Rivera—colorful, uplifting, and lively with a depiction of everyday life in the Southwest.
Bettina just published two children’s books. The first one is a heart-felt story of Finn "The Last Winged Unicorn". The book offers plenty of adventure and travel, plus a nice twist at the end. Perfect for ages 5-12, and those of us who always remain young at heart. Her second book, "If a Pillow Could Talk – The adventures of Patches the Pillow", is a colorful story filled with interesting characters and beautiful illustrations. Bettina resides most of the year in Durango, CO and snowbirds in Tucson during the Winter. It is the beautiful Sonoran Desert that inspires her paintings.
